Brand new, LIVE friendship webinar - for kids!
Hi, I haven’t done one of these in a while, so I’m excited to tell you about a new live webinar I’ll be doing for kids ages 6-12. I hope you'll attend with your child!
Dealing with Feelings about Friends – FOR KIDS!
A lot of the advice that kids get about coping with feelings is very generic: Calm down; take deep breaths. That’s fine, as far as it goes, but the problem is that this generic advice tells kids nothing about how to deal with the relationships that were probably the cause and context for their big feelings.
Another piece of advice that kids hear often is to punch pillows. Hmmm… I can think of lots of situations where that’s just not practical. It’s also not supported by research. Studies show that acting aggressively rehearses and intensifies anger.
Dealing with Feelings about Friends is a webinar that offers kids a nuanced understanding of their feelings about friends. It describes the framework of a Feelings Story which spells out the progression from an external Event, to Thoughts and Feelings about that event, which can lead to Actions that then trigger Reactions from other people. Each of these points in a Feelings Story is a place where your child can intervene to send the story in a better direction.
This webinar focuses on helping kids learn to understand, cope with, and communicate about their own or others’ feelings.
Sat., Nov. 11, 1 pm (Eastern US time) + recording
Register to attend this LIVE webinar with your child (ages 6-12). You’ll also receive a recording afterward, in case you can’t attend at that scheduled time, or if you’d like to watch it again with your child.
