I’m excited to announce that I’m changing the name of this newsletter from Open Door for Parents to Dr. Friendtastic.
After careful consideration and feedback from you, my valued subscribers, I’ve decided to change the name to more clearly communicate my focus on children’s feelings and friendships.
One of our most important jobs as parents is to teach kids how to be in relationships. There’s so much to learn! Even as adults, especially in new situations or with new people, we’re still figuring out how to get along with others.
Knowing how to make and keep friends and to move past those unavoidable friendship rough spots matters deeply–not just for our kids’ individual happiness and well-being but also for creating a more caring world.
This newsletter will continue to be your source for practical, research-based information to help you equip your child with the necessary skills to build strong friendships and, most importantly, be a good friend.
Here’s what to expect:
Every other Friday (or so), I'll send out a Q&A post with answers to your most pressing parent questions about children’s feelings and friendships. Don't miss this valuable opportunity to get the answers you need to help your child navigate friendship challenges. Send in your question today to DrF@EileenKennedyMoore.com! (Sorry, I can’t answer questions privately. I’ll respond to as many as possible in the newsletter.)
On Saturdays, I'll share a new episode of the Kids Ask Dr. Friendtastic podcast for children. Each 5-minute episode features an audio recording of a question about friendship from a child plus my answer. As a subscriber, you'll be the first to receive these useful and thought-provoking episodes, delivered straight to your inbox. You’ll also receive a transcript and discussion questions to prompt interesting conversations that give you a window into your child’s social world and help your child build deeper connections with peers. To submit your child’s question, use your phone’s memo app to record 1) their name, 2) their age, and 3) a brief question about friendship, then send it to DrF@EileenKennedyMoore.com.
Here’s what’s new:
Get ready for a fresh, authentic take on friendship advice! I'll be sending out occasional informal videos, recorded straight from my phone, rather than professionally filmed videos. You’ll get the same high-quality advice, but with a more personal touch.
I’m passing on the savings to you from cutting the professionally filmed videos and reducing the price of a newsletter subscription to only $6/month or $60/year.
I'm also reducing the price of my webinars to an unbeatable $23 in 2023. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain access to valuable insights and strategies that will help you teach your child the social and emotional skills that are the foundation of healthy relationships. But act fast - I don’t know how long I can keep the webinar price this low. Register for my webinars today.
Can you help, please?
